ABOUT THE SERIES
When you were a kid, you probably had to be reminded to share some things. Your toys. Your cookies. Your video games. But learning to share isn’t just for kids. Jesus had to remind His followers to share a few things, too. In this 4-week series, we’ll explore passages from the Gospels and the Book of Acts through the lens of community. Each week, we’ll look at one passage about Jesus and one story about how some of His first followers put His teachings into practice in the days of the early Church. As we do, you’ll help your students learn to better love and care for each other by sharing what they have: their stuff, their ideas, their lives, and their stories.
THIS SERIES AT A GLANCE
Week One: Share What You Have Because
This week, you’ll help students discover how to love others by sharing their stuff. Like one poor woman and a whole community of early Christians, no matter how much we have (or don’t have), we always have more than enough to share.
Week Two: Share Your Ideas Because Ideas Become Things
This week, you’ll help students discover how to love others by sharing their ideas, instead of holding them back. Like Andrew, Peter, and a few other Jesus-followers learned, God can use our ideas to change the world.
Week Three: Share Your Life Because Your Life Can Change Others’ Lives
This week, you’ll help students discover how to love others by sharing their lives with others. Like Jesus modeled with His disciples, and Philip practiced with the Ethiopian eunuch, we need people and people need us.
Week Four: Share Your Stories Because Stories Remind Us We’re Not Alone
This week, you’ll help students discover how to love others by sharing their stories — even the painful parts. Like Jesus and the apostle Paul demonstrated, God can work through even our most painful stories, if we’re willing to share them.
